FAQ
Q: Can I use my health insurance to pay for counseling services?
A: I do not accept or file insurance. You may use your Health Saving Account. Psychotherapy is considered a covered medical expense.
Q: Why is it better to just leave the insurance out of it?
A: Insurance claims require a diagnosis. They may also request a treatment plan with goals and estimated time frames. This creates an insurance history that may follow you to your next plan. The benefit is that none of your information will be sent to an insurance company. Many people prefer to pay directly out-of-pocket to see a counselor for the sake of privacy and peace of mind.
